Living Larder project, supported by Sussex Community Foundation.

We have a new allotment space at Petworth Community Garden for our Living Larder Project. After a long wait on the list, Petworth Town Council were able to kindly offer us another allotment, close to our current one. We have been looking to expand our growing area over the last few years, as we have expanded our projects and the people we support. Harvesting food for our members is a vital part of our project, and we needed more space to be able to grow enough crops for everyone to take home each week. We were also longing for a polytunnel to extend our growing year. Thanks to Sussex Community Foundation supporting us once again, we have been able to grow an abundance of crops there this season and we have been able to buy and erect a 15' polytunnel on our new allotment! It is heaving with tomatoes, peppers and chillis, and we are now planting in our winter lettuces and oriental vegetables.
